Grazing

It's almost embarrassing how little I've really seen of London since moving here.

Seeing as I have Wednesday's off from uni, I thought I'd finally head down to the much raved about Borough Market.

First things first: doughnuts.

I've seen a lot of Bread Ahead doughnuts on Instagram so that was my priority.

I went for the traditional vanilla custard.

And it was uuuuh-mazing. The best doughnut I've ever had and I'd get straight back on the tube just for one (or two) of these.

Minna chose a salted caramel/honeycomb concoction that I didn't manage to snap but it looked just as delicious.

Next up was something savoury in the form of steak rolls with onions and mushrooms at Marias.

We made our orders and waited eagerly at the table.

Before we knew it they were ready and they were really good.

They definitely didn't scrimp on portion size- I'm ashamed to say that I couldn't even finish mine.

We were hunting for the prosecco spritzers that I'd seen on The Londoner but they were nowhere to be found so I settled for fresh apple and elderflower instead.

It reminded me of the juices I had at La Boqueria in Barcelona last summer. I can't wait to go back there in June and have more of those.

After spying someone with these sweet potato chips earlier we managed to find enough room in our bellies to share a portion from Scotchtails.

Crispy and delicious.

Seeing as Jack was stuck in his room revising, I thought I'd pick him up some sausage rolls from Boston sausage that were very well received.

^Brie-lliant.

And finally, I couldn't resist picking up my favourite treat to take home in the form of a pasteis de nata (a Portugese custard tart).

I would definitely go back to Borough Market tomorrow if I didn't have exams (sigh).

Everything I sampled was delicious and the best part? I took £15 and came back with change.

Street food seems to be ludicrously overpriced all over London but this was the opposite and some of the best I've had.

Opening times and details here.
